4Runner Adventure Dog Build with BPF Pet Barrier
When Sarah M. adopted her second rescue dog, her 4Runner setup needed a serious upgrade. She needed a barrier that could handle two energetic dogs on long trail days without rattling loose or blocking her rear visibility. The BPF Molle Style Pet Barrier for the 5th Gen 4Runner was exactly what she was looking for.
The Setup
Sarah runs a 2019 4Runner TRD Off-Road. Her dogs, a 70lb Lab mix and a 55lb Shepherd mix, ride in the cargo area on every trip from weekend camping runs to daily errands. She needed a barrier that was rigid enough to keep them safely in the back, but also functional enough to mount gear on.
Easy On, Easy Off
One of Sarah's favorite things about the BPF barrier is how fast it goes in and out. No tools required. It mounts directly to the factory anchor points and can be removed in minutes when she needs the full cargo area for hauling gear or furniture. "I can pull it out in under two minutes and throw it back in just as fast. It's not a permanent install, which was a big deal for me," she said.
Why BPF
"Most pet barriers are just flimsy mesh or cheap plastic. The BPF barrier is solid steel and the Molle panel means I can actually use it for storage too. My dogs can't push through it and I can mount a first aid kit and leashes right on the panel," Sarah said.
