Tacoma Recovery Build: HD Tow Hooks That Actually Work

For off-road enthusiasts, recovery gear is only as good as the anchor points holding it. When Mike T. started building out his 2021 Tacoma for serious trail use, the factory tow hooks weren't going to cut it. He upgraded to the BPF 2005-2023 HD Tacoma Recovery Tow Hook Bundle and hasn't looked back.

The Build

Mike runs a 2021 Tacoma TRD Pro on technical trails in the Pacific Northwest. He needed recovery points he could trust when things got serious, whether that meant a winch pull, a strap recovery, or a hard anchor for a friend's rig. The factory hooks are fine for light duty, but Mike wanted something built for real recovery loads.

Bolt-On, No Drill

One of the biggest selling points for Mike was the straightforward install. The BPF tow hook bundle bolts directly to the factory mounting locations with no cutting, no drilling, and no fabrication required. "I had them on in about 30 minutes. Torqued everything down, did a quick inspection, and they've been solid ever since," he said.

Why BPF

"These are CNC cut and bent right here in North America. When I'm hanging off the side of a hill, I want to know exactly what my recovery points are made of and who made them. BPF checks both boxes," Mike said.
